Laser Hair Removal

The Cutera XEO® Laser is a non-invasive, gentle technique that reduces undesirable hair from most parts of the body.

Laser hair removal is one of the most commonly done cosmetic procedures in the U.S. It works by beaming highly concentrated light into hair follicles. The pigment in the follicles then absorb the light which destroys the hair. Lasers are useful for removing unwanted hair from the face, leg, chin, back, arm, underarm, bikini line, and other areas.

Our Cutera XEO Laser Hair Removal machine has many benefits which include: selectively targeting dark, coarse hairs while leaving the surrounding skin undamaged / laser takes a fraction of a second and can treat many hairs at the same time / Most patients have permanent hair loss after an average of three to seven sessions

What is the treatment like for laser hair removal?

Depending on the area being treated, the process may take anywhere from several minutes to several hours to complete. The most commonly used lasers utilize a low energy laser beam. This beam passes through the patient's skin and is attracted to the pigment of the hair. The energy passes down the hair shaft and is absorbed by hair follicles that are in the active growth phase, thereby disabling the hair follicle in the deeper layer of the skin. The hair follicles that are in dormant phase are not affected by the treatment. In most cases, minimal pain should be experienced and no anesthesia is required.

How soon will I notice results?

You can begin to see hair fall out in approximately 1-3 weeks post-treatment. Laser hair removal can only damage hair that is in its active growth stage. Although hair will appear thinner and less noticeable with just one treatment, you'll need to return for multiple follow-up appointments to see optimal results

How long does it last?

After you're finished receiving all of your sessions, then laser hair removal will last for at least two years; however, maintenance sessions may be needed to keep the area without hair forever.

Is laser hair removal painful?

Most patients describe the sensations experienced during laser hair removal treatment as little pinches, or like snapping a rubber band against your skin. It's entirely tolerable, and most patients say it hurts far less than waxing, especially in the more sensitive areas of the body like the bikini line.
