CO2 Laser Resurfacing

The Tetra CO2 from Cartessa is an ablative laser that resurfaces damaged skin by selectively target a fraction of the skin cells at the treatment site.

This process acts not only to target damaged cells, but also stimulates the growth of healthy skin and supportive collagen fibers. As the skin heals, dark spots fade, wrinkles smooth, and skin texture and complexion improve. One of the great benefits of the Tetra laser is the versatility it provides during treatment, enabling us to use a variety of settings to disperse the laser beam bursts across the treatment area. This reduces heat absorption by surrounding tissues, which can be very helpful for reducing down time after treatment.

The laser can be calibrated with a variety of settings, which allows us to fine-tune the treatment to your specific needs. We use this laser to treat issues like: Dark Spots, Birthmarks or Blotchy Spots, Acne Scars, Scars from Injury, Fine Lines & Wrinkles, and Rough Skin.

What happens during a CO2 Laser treatment?

When your treatment begins, you will be asked to sit in a comfortable chair, in a semi-reclining position. We will also place protective eyewear over your eyes, to ensure your safety. Once the procedure starts, we will use the CO2 laser to deliver bursts of laser energy to your skin. The sensation during this step of the procedure can be described as a rubber band snapping against the skin.

Are the results permanent?

Yes. You will see permanent and complete skin regeneration and intensive stimulation of new collagen synthesis

How Many CO2 Treatments will I need?

Each patient’s situation is unique, and the number of treatments needed will depend on your skin condition and aesthetic goals. However, most patients may see dramatic improvement after just one treatment. However, a recommendation of two or more treatments may be needed depending on your goals.

How soon can I get back to normal activites?

We strongly recommend that any patients undergoing this procedure take a few days off work, to allow the skin to recover. This is especially important as the skin’s natural UV defenses will be weakened after treatment, which makes it imperative to avoid direct sun exposure.
