The first and only FDA-approved injectable for moderate to severe cellulite in the buttocks of adult women.
QWO works by enzymatically disrupting the fibrous septae responsible for creating cellulite resulting in a smoother appearance of the treated skin.
Enzymatic Subcision and Remodeling (ESR) describes the process whereby enzymes degrade or dissolve the collagen component of fibrous septae thus releasing the bands causing cellulite. Qwo is an injectable formulation of two enzymes that degrade the fibrous septae. In addition to releasing the bands, these enzymes stimulate the production of newer collagen molecules that improve the appearance of the skin in a process called neocollagenesis.
To-date, we have data to support longevity for a few years.
Qwo™ requires a total of three sessions, spaced 21 days apart for a lasting result of a year or more. Each session takes about 30 minutes.
Patients who have undergone QWO injections typically have bruising that can last one to two weeks after the first treatment. Patients report mild to moderate soreness alleviated with Tylenol or ibuprofen. There is mild to moderate swelling for the first few days, as well.
Patients may see an improvement as early as three weeks after their injections. However, the improvement continues, and most patients require more than one treatment cycle of QWO.
Maintenance treatments may be necessary to maintain initial treatment results.
